Pilot Bored & Keyed Sprockets

Also called plain bore or type B and C, these sprockets feature a raised (bossed) hub and a pilot hole which can be machined to size

Plain Bored Sprocket

The term “plain bored” sprocket is associated with A, B and C style sprockets. There is no special machining performed to accommodate keyways or set screws, only to accommodate the shaft diameter. However plain bore sprockets typically need additional machining before installation.

Pilot bore sprockets are typically bossed and available in single or double hubs are used in many different industries to transmit rotary motion between two shafts where gears are unsuitable.

We stock bossed sprockets in simplex, duplex and triplex that comply with British Standards (BS) and American Standards (ANSI) and are available in various sizes ranging from 8 to 72 induction hardened teeth. Made using high-quality stainless steel which increases the sprockets working life and improves resistance to wear.
