Originally established in 1949 in the United States, to be the sole supplier of clutches to Wilson Manufacturing for their line of drilling and service rigs. This was the beginning of Wichita’s efforts to sell clutches and brakes to OEM’s, machine re-builders and end-users.

By 1961, Wichita’s sister facility in Bedford, England was started and has been manufacturing a wide range of Wichita air operated friction clutches and brakes ever since, while maintaining the ISO 9001 quality standards accredited to them.

Today, Wichita is a global leader in providing innovative solutions with their design and manufacture of heavy-duty clutches and brakes that are essential components in industrial process equipment. This range includes hydraulic clutches and brakes, air clutches, air brakes, water-cooled clutches and brakes, and fluid couplings in many industries including:
