Stieber Built In Freewheel AS
A roller-type freewheel without integrated bearings
Type AS is a roller-type built-in freewheel without integrated bearing support. Bearings must be supplied by the installation to carry both axial and radial loads, and lubrication and sealing must be provided by the host assembly. Nominal outside dimensions of Type AS correspond to the same size as standard series 62 ball bearings, allowing easy integration with existing bearing arrangements.
A typical installation locates this freewheel alongside a series 62 bearing within the same housing tolerances. The inner race is keyed to the shaft (except in the 6 mm bore size), and the outer race has a positive r6 tolerance for a press fit to an H7 housing. The surrounding housing must be strong enough not to expand after assembly. This design can accommodate axial misalignment between the inner and outer races of ± S/2.
