NDF Series clutches are compact, shaft-mounted sprag backstops designed to prevent reverse rotation in gear units and other industrial drive applications.

- NDF Series clutches are direct-mount sprag clutches specifically designed for backstopping applications where compact installation dimensions are required
- The clutch mounts directly onto the shaft and is particularly suited to gear units and other equipment requiring precise shaft-to-housing concentricity
- Oil lubrication is required for operation
- The shaft must be carburised to an effective case depth of 1.2–1.5 mm and ground to a hardness of 60 HRC
- A surface finish of Ra 0.3–0.5 μm is required, with shaft taper not exceeding 8 μm per 25.4 mm
- The shaft must be supported in bearings to maintain shaft-to-housing concentricity within 0.05 mm TIR.
